This is a picture of my Maltese "Abby"
Maltese Breed Information
Color: Pure White - some have slight lemon markings on ears. This is permissible in the Maltese Standard just not preferred according to the AKC. Has dark luminous eyes and black pigmentation of nose, lips and eyes. This is what enhances the Maltese beautiful expression.
Coat: Maltese have a gorgeous, long, silky but strong, even textured coat that hangs straight to the ground from a center part running from nose to tip of tail. Maltese have no undercoat. Long hair may be tied up in a topknot or it may be left hanging.
Temperament: Gentle, trusting and obedient. Typically good natured and love to be held and cuddled. Maltese are also very affectionate, fearless and intelligent. They love to romp and play and are use to being the center of attention. Maltese do not make the best pet for small children but they love kids if handled properly. Rough handling can seriously hurt or injure the Maltese fragile build.
Care: The Maltese coat require daily brushing and combing to prevent matting. Needs to be bathed on a regular basis. The eyes need daily cleaning to prevent staining. It is also important to keep their ears clean and free from stray hairs. I like to keep the hair trimmed around their feet. Toe nails should be kept short. Teeth need daily brushing. Maltese are known to have tear staining with some more than others. Puppies are likely to have tear staining when they are teething. There are many causes of tear staining. We like to keep our Maltese in a puppy cut during the hot summer months. There are several excellent books that have been written on Maltese and all give more detailed information on grooming.

Training: Crate training is recommended and should never be harsh in nature. It should be done with love, consistency, reward and patience. Exercise needs are minimal but they still love a good romp in the yard. I like to use a portable exercise pen and attach to the crate. This gives them a nice comfortable place to sleep in the crate and if you are gone through the day the exercise pen gives them room to play.
Life Expectancy: 15 - 18 years

Biewer Yorkie Breed Information
Colors: Tri Color - The head must have three colors: black or blue, white, and gold in good symmetry. The belly, chest, legs, and the tip of the tail are white. The tail is full. The back is blue or black with white in it. .
Coat: Long-haired hanging evenly and straight down the side of the body, and from the base of the skull to the end of the tail. The tail should be carried up. The hair should be very straight and shiny like silk and of fine silky texture (not wooly) and without undercoat. The Biewer Yorkie is a non-shedding breed.
Temperament: The Biewer Yorkie seems oblivious of its small size. This little dog is highly energetic, brave, loyal, charming and clever. Affectionate with its master, but sometimes suspicious of strangers. Biewer Yorkies are easy to train, although they can sometimes be stubborn. They need and love a lot of human attention. The Biewer Yorkie makes an excellent watchdog. Being a toy companion breed the Biewer is happy sitting in your lap or playing. It has a childlike, playful personality that holds true to the terrier breed. It barks when it senses danger. The Biewer is tolerant of all children provided they respect their personal space. Due to its small size and bold temperament the Biewer is not recommended for young children unless carefully supervised. Biewers prefer life indoors, and are not suited to cold climates.
Care: As a companion most owners prefer to have this breed in a puppy cut. A bath at home about every two to three weeks will maintain a healthy coat, if it is combed out with a wire comb once a week. Show Coat: The Biewer will develop a coat that reaches the ground. Some breeders rap the coat to produce a very impressive elegant floor length coat for the show ring. The Biewers hair should be kept out of its eyes by a latex band or a bow. Loose hairs should be regularly removed from ear passages.
History: The Biewer Yorkie occured from 2 Yorkshier Terriers that carried a piebald genetic recessive gene. They originated in Germany in 1984 from a breeding by Gertrude and Werner Biewer's Yorkshire Terriers. In this particular litter they produced a piebald Yorkie puppy from a genetic recessive gene. Gertrude and Werner Biewer found this puppy to be quite beautiful and began a selective breeding process to produce more piebald puppies. Gertrude and Werner Biewer named these Yorkie's with white markings "Biewer Yorkshire a la Pom Pon". It was from these breedings the Biewer Yorkie was developed.
Life Expectancy: 12 - 15 years
There are several clubs in the U.S. for the Biewers. They each have their own descriptions of the breed. I have listed a few of the clubs.
